Northern Lights Country Drive

The longest road is on this scenic route is Highway 588 starting in the village of Stanley and ending about 10 km. west of Suomi Village, intersecting with Highway 595 south of Hymers, Highway 590 in Nolalu and Highway 593 between Nolalu and Suomi.

This is a region that was known for years as a centre for mining and forestry.  Today it is redefining itself as a destination for eco-adventure and eco-learning.  Several ecology-focused centres dot the region, offering a wide variety of fascinating experiences.

The region's reputation as a destination for great hunting and fishing has not diminished over the years nor has its ability to attract visitors looking for great scenery, spectacular sunsets and, of course, those legendary Northern Lights.
