Sundays in the Park

This long weekend (July 29 to August 1st) come visit Chippewa Park, where there are fun activities for the whole family! Sunday, July 31st The Friends of Chippewa Park will be hosting their weekly Sundays in the Park Concert. This Sunday will feature the sounds of The Campbell Family Band. Due to popular demand the concert will be held in the dance hall so that you can enjoy the beautiful dance floor. Please bring your own lawn chairs and be prepared to dance! The concert will begin at 2:00 PM and end at 4:00 PM with a short intermission around 3:00.

The Campbell Family Band is a versatile 5 piece band with a long history of bringing the finest dance music to the local population of Thunder Bay, andthe surrounding communities. The band is composed of five enthusiastic multi-talented musicians of the Campbell family. Together they bring reflections and memories fromdecades past with some of the very best music from diverse performers across the music spectrum.

They perform Big Band, Ballroom, Latin, Country, and Contemporary music for your dancing pleasure.

The Sundays in the Park series will be running till August 28. It is hosted every Sunday rain or shine. The concerts are generally held at the TbayTel Family Stage at the back of the Pavilion, unless in climate weather or popular demand requires them to be held in the dance hall.

While out at the park, also enjoy some of the many other activities available. The Amusement Park and the concession are open weather and crowd permitting from 1:00 PM till 8:00 PM. The Wildlife exhibition is open 11:00AM till 8:00 PM. The baseball field, picnic benches, and children’s playground are open to the public all hours and are a great place to spend a sunny afternoon. Unfortunately the Chippewa Park Beach is closed for swimming but you can still enjoy playing on the sand or taking walks while enjoying the view of the Sleeping Giant. Also visit the History Wall (located inside the Pavilion) and add your name to it for only $25.

Hope to see many people out enjoying beautiful Chippewa Park this long weekend.
