Shopping
The North of Superior region abounds with shopping options that will please even the most dedicated "shop-acholics" from large indoor "climate controlled" shopping malls in the City of Thunder Bay featuring brand name retailers to small boutiques and craftshops in our regional communities offering unique local art, handmade crafts and apparel. Amethyst gems are a passion in these parts. From dark lavender to rich midnite hues, the amethyst of our region is a treasure of purple and is a favourite stop for many shoppers and rockhounds alike. Our region also has many great Outdoor Store's where you can "stock up" on supplies for your next eco-adventure trip in Wabakimi, Pukaskwa or Quetico Park or on a sea-kayaking trip to the Sleeping Giant on Lake Superior. Our First Nation's locally made crafts are also sold at local shops throughout the region so go back in time when the great spirits were etched in stone.
