Canadian Currency

It is recommended that all visitors use Canadian funds when travelling in the North of Superior Tourism Region and within Ontario.

Currency exchange offices are conveniently located in Ontario Travel Information Centres located at our international U.S./Ontario border crossings.

A fair rate of exchange is offered at the Pigeon River border Currency Exchange and at all banks, trust companies and credit unions in the North of Superior Tourism Region. Banks are generally open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. A few banks are open on Saturday.

Banks are closed on federal public holidays. Automated banking machines and debit (Interac, Cirrus, Plus, etc.) services are wideley available.

Visit www.xe.com to check the current exchange rates.
