Atikokan is known as the "Canoeing Capital of Canada" and the reason is no surprise: this is gateway to the famous canoeing destinaton: Quetico Provincial Park. With no power boats allowed and numerous canoe outfitters ready to serve you, this is a paddler's paradise. Not a canoer? You can fish at a drive in or fly in resort, visit the attractions of downtown Atikokan or view rock art along the lake shores near town.
