 1. Grand Marais Recreation Area
Posted on: April 3 2013 by Dave (Grand Marais Recreation Area)
The Grand Marais RV Park and Campground and Recreation Area has three big things going for it - location, location, location! The modern RV park and campground, municipal marina and public park frame the entire western shore of the harbor and the bluffs beyond. Features include: - 300 camping sites ranging from wooded, primitive spots to full hook-up with 50 amp and Wi-Fi - over a mile of public cobblestone beach - Sweetheart's Bluff Nature Area (now featuring the "all-access" Lake Loop Trail, built with ADA in mind) Campers also receive a discount at the indoor municipal swimming pool, located in the campground, and enjoy half price golf at Gunflint Hills Municipal Golf Course. Try our AquaClimb wall in the big pool, and enjoy the wading pool, hot tub and sauna. All this, and more, tucked between downtown Grand Marais and the rest of the world... The Grand Marais Municipal Marina continues the tradition of welcoming boaters to our harbor town. Located behind the inner breakwall, the marina offers a full range of boater services including pump-out, fuel and public access. Guest dockage and mooring balls may be arranged through the municipal marina, which monitors VHF channel 16 and answers to "Grand Marais Marina". A total of three public access ramps service the harbor and should make getting on the big lake a breeze!
