Thunder Bay Drive (Highway 61)

This mountainous country, just north of the Minnesota/Ontario border and south of Thunder Bay, is dotted with dozens of lakes, offering outstanding outdoor experiences. This is also Thunder Bay’s prime farm land, with several farms offering tours and “pick your own” options.
 
The Ontario/Minnesota border is only a 35-minute drive along Hwy. 61 North from Grand Marais, with most of the route alongside spectacular Lake Superior.
