Township of Nipigon
Township of NipigonNipigon sits on the edge of the Nipigon River and is brimming with natural beauty. We are an inspiring community; a place where nature goes hand in hand with a rich culture and storied heritage.

If you love outdoor adventures, Nipigon is surrounded by dramatic shorelines, freshwater lakes, and rugged landscapes. It is also a stepping stone to many of the undiscovered places that make this area truly special – both Lake Nipigon and Lake Superior are accessed from here.

Township of Terrace Bay
Township of Terrace BayTerrace Bay (known as the “Gem of the North”) is a picturesque community situated on the Trans-Canada Highway 17. Originally named after the sand and gravel terraces that cascade from Lake Superior, the area is surrounded by the rugged beauty and freedom of the North of Superior wilderness while serving as the Eastern gateway to the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area. It is this wilderness that encourages sportsmen and vacationers to stay and enjoy fishing, hunting, boating, golfing, hiking, swimming, kayaking, and snowmobiling. The main tourism attractions include the majestic Slate Islands with its friendly caribou population, unique meteorite history, and the tallest lighthouse on the Great Lakes, as well as the 100 foot Aguasabon Falls, the Aguasabon Golf Course, the 52 km Casque Isles Hiking Trail, Trestle Ridge Ski Hill, access to 100's of kms of snowmobile trails, the annual Green Tradeshow and the annual car racing festival Drag Fest. You will be amazed by the beauty of the area and overwhelmed by the number of potential activities.
